D-001 At one time this sixth plate
octagonal dag was one of the most
appealing and wonderful portraits this
artist ever made. Unfortunately,
someone chose to inflict the ravages of
time and severely cleaned her and
scratched her. The re-silvered plate
has been dipped at least once in its
life. She's still quite lovely and if you
can overlook the myriad flaws, it's still
a great portrait. Someone loved it
enough to put it in an octagonal
thermoplastic frame, which appears to
be original to the image. It,
fortunately, is in much better shape
than the photograph. Nearly perfect,
the case has a couple of small cracks
on the side with the latch.
